Fraser has over 11 years experience as a field ecologist specialising in habitat surveying, site condition monitoring, protected species & ornithological surveys.
His main area of interest/expertise is in habitat surveying using the National Vegetation Classification (NVC). He started working for the Scottish Wildlife Trust in 1997 carrying out a large scale NVC survey of part what of what was to become Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park. Since then he has successfully undertaken many NVC contracts in Scotland, Wales & Northern England. Recently, he conducted NVC surveys for several large windfarm developments in Scotland.
He has been involved in the planning and implementation of large scale site condition monitoring projects in Scotland and Wales using Common Standards Monitoring (CSM) methodology and is currently involved with setting up long term monitoring projects for two large windfarm developments in northern Scotland.
He has recently branched out into breeding bird and European Protected Species (EPS) surveys mainly relating to development sites and windfarms. He hold EPS licences for Great Crested Newts and is working towards his bat workers licence.
